It will be the first time that Jorge Knoblovits, and Agustín Zbar share an act since the assumption of the new leadership of the political entity of the Jewish community.

Agencia AJN.- A major delegation of leaders of the Argentine Jewish community will travel to Israel to participate in the opening ceremony of the monument that is a forest in commemoration of Alberto Nisman, which will be presented on January 18 to mark the fourth anniversary of the tragic death of the Argentine prosecutor who was investigating the attack on the AMIA.

The delegation will be headed by the presidents of AMIA, Agustín Zbar, and of the DAIA, Jorge Knoblovits, and both will be speakers at the inauguration ceremony, which will have as guests political personalities of Israel, diplomatic representatives and the mother of the former prosecutor , Sara Garfunkel.

The initiative was promoted by the Jewish National Fund Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (KKL) and during the opening ceremony of the monument will also participate in a tree planting in the Amistad Argentina park and Israel in the Ben Shemen Forest.

The two main institutions of the Argentine Jewish community will be represented at the inauguration of the monument to Alberto Nisman, as confirmed to the News Agency AJN.

It will be the first time that Zbar and Knoblovits coincide in an act from the moment that the new leadership of the DAIA, the political arm of the Jewish community in Argentina, took office last December.

Also, this will be the first trip abroad of the new president of the DAIA, who has planned a broad agenda with authorities of the Israeli government.

Knoblovits served as general secretary of DAIA when the Argentine government signed the memorandum of understanding with Iran to clarify the AMIA attack, which was questioned by the prosecutor Nisman.

The institution rejected the agreement signed by the government then headed by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and even came to describe the memorandum as «frightening».

In his assumption, Knoblovits not only ratified his questions to the memorandum but also requested for the clarification of the death of Nisman.
